I’ve only owned 2 forums, but I’ve been on staff on multiple forums…and at once! Being an owner is more responsibility and I think needs more commitment and dedication than being on staff. With that said, I try to be active on the forums where I’m on staff. It can be difficult to make the rounds most days though, but I try to at least check in once a day!
Seeing a lot of forums by the same owner, I’ve noticed that the same people tend to flock to them. And the topics aren’t much different unless it’s a very unique niche and even with unique niches you’ll have the same General discussion areas with the same threads/posts from the same people.

For me, just one at a time, is all i can run and thats where all my energy and focus is. Being staff or moderators are different and i have helped others out with their forums and was able to do that because it doesn’t require the same level of dedication and resposibility as being an owner does.
