Based on what I see on ForumSpark, I would argue that they are dying. We’ve seen a good amount of new communities being build and migrated, so I believe forums still have their foot on the internet.
When I look back at topics on other sites from a decade ago, people were crying back then that forums were dying. And yet, some of those are still around 🙂
